Designing a testing strategy
Matthieu Durand
Jiawei Sun
Zakir Zahir
Testing the new system is used mostly to find out what works correctly and what can be improved
The testing strategy is done in two parts; the Alpha test and the Beta test
The Alpha Test
Testing inside the designing company
Searches for bugs in the new system
Checks that new system works the way the designer wants it to
Checks that data is inputted correctly
Looks at how the new system reacts to abnormal and extreme data
Looks that the data is taken in by the new system correctly
Checks that the output data is correct
Find out what can be improved by the test results
The Beta test
The new system is tested within the firm to find out if it is better than the previous system
Collects feedback from users of the previous system
Searches for bugs do to daily and repetitive use
Searches for what can be done to improve the new system so that it is better than the previous if the test fails
